Leonora Sophie Ottilie Stoll Wolf
1928-2016
Leonora was born September 28, 1928 in the Wuthrich Hill Community near Taylor, Texas, daughter of the late Otto H. Stoll and Ella Heckmann Stoll. She was baptized November 18, 1928 in St. James Lutheran Church (now Prince of Peace Lutheran) at Wuthrich Hill by the Rev. G. Walter. She was confirmed on March 29, 1942 by Rev. Arthur D. Rode at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor.
She attended Texas Lutheran College in Seguin. She worked for the college as the Public Relations Office Manger until accepting a job at the Texas Rehabilitation Center at Ottine, Texas. She later accepted a position as manager at New Braunfels Title Company ultimately becoming a managing partner for the firm. She retired after 28 years with New Braunfels Title.
Leonora married Carl Fredrick Wolf October 15, 1966 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor. They lived in New Braunfels until 2013 at which time they moved to Taylor to be near family.
In their retirement Carl and Leonora spent countless hours, weeks, and years researching the history of the Lutheran Church in Texas and published a book in 2002 titled Mission to Frontier Texas. This work along with their work on the farms they owned around Taylor kept them both busy during their retirement. Aunt Noni also published four cookbooks and eight volumes of family history spanning many lifetimes. Faith and family were immensely important to her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wolf, her parents Otto and Ella Stoll, her brother and sister in law, Marvin and Hermine Stoll, her niece Sarah Sirece Stoll. She is survived by her Nieces and Nephews, Duane and Sandra Stoll of Taylor, Evangeline Stoll Barefoot of Clarksville, TN, Mark and Karen Stoll of Fredericksburg, Texas, and several great nieces and nephews and four great-great nephews and niece.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Duane Stoll, Mark Stoll, Christian Stoll, Donald Randig, Adam Dismukes, and Mike Campbell
Honorary Pallbearers are: Shirley Thieme, Vincent O’Donnell, Robbie Niemela, Ella Niemela, Laura O’Donnell, Camryn Campbell, and Angela Dismukes.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel.
Everyone is invited to join the family for refreshments served by the Bereavement Committee in the Fellowship Hall at St. Paul Lutheran Church following a brief graveside service at the Taylor City Cemetery.
