Gabriel Carlin Torres

Gabriel Carlin Torres (57), was called by God on Saturday, April 9, 2016. He was born in Taylor, TX to Julia Carlin Torres & Lorenzo Torres on March 4, 1959. He was the youngest of nine children.

Gabriel was a fun and loving person who would make everyone laugh. He loved music, friends, and his extended family. But most of all - he loved his kids and grandkids. Gabriel had a long career as a barber and worked with his compadres at Torres IV Hair Salon. He moved on to own West Mary Barber Shop in South Austin, where he united the community for 15 years.

He is survived by Rachael Padilla Torres and their children: Stephen Anthony Torres (Joanna), Stacy Torres Garcia (Victor) & Tiffany Torres Munoz. He is also survived by his grandchildren Joaquin Anthony Munoz, Abigail Clarissa Torres, Matthew Anthony Torres, Madison Raquel Garcia, Mila Grace Munoz, Jacob Anthony Torres, and Gabriella Marie Garcia.

His surviving siblings include Lorenzo Torres, Jr.(Minnie), Camerina Martinez (Ray), Elvira (BB) (Frank), Georgia Carranza, and Lourdes (Lulu) Gonzales (Jesse), and so many nieces and nephews
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Carlos, Joe, and Tony.

Visitation and recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Holy Mass will be celebrated in his honor on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Taylor, Texas. Burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
