Kimberly Diane Jones

Kimberly Diane (Kokes) Jones, age 46 of Hutto, passed away on March 24, 2016 after a 7 year battle with breast cancer. She was born June 14, 1969 in Taylor, Texas to Eugene and Mary Kokes.

Kimberly was a 1987 graduate of Hutto High School and a 1995 graduate of Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing. Just before graduating college, Kimberly was hired by Dell Inc. in Round Rock, and for the next 21 years, Kimberly held various sales and managerial positions. At the time of her death, Kimberly was the Director of Talent and Recruiting.

Kimberly placed her faith and trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was an active member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Normans Crossing where she was the coordinator for Vacation Bible School. She was also a volunteer at the Austin Baptist Chapel Angel House Soup Kitchen in Austin, Texas.

In 2013, Kimberly was named an honorary chair of the Austin Komen “Race for the Cure,” and in 2014 she was named the “Texas Mother of the Year” by American Mothers Inc. in recognition for her volunteer work with the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Brushy Creek Baptist Church, and the Ray Elementary PTC in Hutto.

Kimberly is survived by her husband of 19 years, Keith Jones, and two daughters, Kenzie Faith Jones and Keeley Grace Jones, all of Hutto. She is also survived by her parents, Eugene and Mary Kokes of Taylor, Texas; sister Tamie Johnson (children Jaycee and Jordyn) of Hutto, Texas; brother Kevin Kokes and wife Brettany (children Caden and Brooke) of Pflugerville, Texas; brother Dustin Kokes of Round Rock, Texas; father-in-law Edgar Jones of College Station, Texas, brother-in-law Marc and wife Karen Jones (children Brenn, Jordan, and Kendall) of Richmond, Texas; sister-in-law Melody and husband Herb McClean (children Kimberly and Camille) of Richmond, Texas; brother-in-law Kyle and wife DeeAnn Jones (children Dalton and Darby) of Bryan, Texas; and numerous cousins.

Before her passing, Kimberly requested that all those attending her service wear a clothing item that included the color pink.

Visitation will be held at Taylor Brethren Church (710 Sloan St., Taylor, Texas) on Saturday, April 2 starting at 9am. Funeral service will begin at 10am with a burial at Taylor Cemetery to follow. Kim’s husband, Pastor Keith Jones of Brushy Creek Baptist Church, and Reverend James Hejl of Taylor Brethren Church will officiate. Pallbearers are Kevin Kokes, Dustin Kokes, Caden Kokes, Patrick Kubacak, Craig Tomasek, Jeffrey Tomasek, Brent Tomasek, Randy Krupala, Kyle Jones, and John Bubenik.

Keith, Kenzie, and Keeley offer their heartfelt thanks to the many people and organizations that served Kimberly during her illness, including Dr. Darren Kocs of Texas Oncology in Round Rock; Dr. Karen Cohen of Texas Oncology in Round Rock; Dr. Kyriakos Papadopoulis of the START Center for Cancer Care in San Antonio; Dr. Susan Orth of the Oakwood Womens Center in Round Rock; Compassus Hospice in Round Rock; all the nurses and staff who treated Kimberly; all of Kimberly’s friends and co-workers at Dell Inc.; the faculty and administration at Ray Elementary in Hutto; the faculty and administration at Round Rock Christian Academy; the members of Brushy Creek Baptist Church; and, the members of Taylor Brethren Church.
