Kevin Luersen was born on December 9, 1965 in Austin, Texas to Wallace and Joann Luersen. He was their only son and pride and joy. He passed away on March 13, 2016 after a valiant fight with Metastatic Melanoma Cancer. Kevin is survived by his loving and dedicated family, wife Jennifer, sons Heston and Reagan of Granger, Texas and mother Joann Luersen of Round Rock, Texas. He is also survived by his Aunt Betty, Uncle Theo, and cousins Jason and Lee Zimmerman and families.
Kevin was raised in Round Rock, Texas and graduated from Round Rock High School in 1984. He loved sports and played football, basketball, and baseball and was a very hardworking and faithful teammate. He had a special love for baseball and went on to play for Concordia Lutheran where he graduated receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Business.
Kevin followed in his father’s footsteps and continued doing the work he grew up with in agriculture, construction, and welding. He was still one of the “good ole boys” who believed in the power of a handshake and giving your word that you would complete a job. He was the best husband and father that you could ever ask for. Kevin had a quick wit and kept his family and friends laughing. He loved and cared for his family above all else. His work ethic was second to none, and he has left a wonderful legacy for his wife and sons. Kevin was the epitome of what it means to be a man of honor and strength.
He has left big shoes to fill and high standards to uphold, but with God’s grace and love, his memory and family name will carry on through his wonderful sons, Heston and Reagan Luersen.
A special thank you to each and every doctor, nurse, and healthcare professional that showed him love and compassion along his cancer journey.
Kevin will live on in the hearts of all of us who loved him dearly. May God Bless and keep him!
One of Kevin’s favorite quotes “…And then it rained…”
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Austin Cancer Centers and MD Anderson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Friday, March 18, 2016 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel.
