Gay N. Cannaday Southworth
August 20, 1938 – February 23, 2016
Gay was born in Dallas Texas on August 20, 1938 and received by her heavenly father and inviting angels on February 23, 2016 at her home at age 77.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas E. Southworth; daughter, Sherrie Amos of Rockport; son, Tommy W. Southworth of Rockport and daughter Alicia Schneider and husband Doug of Manor; she is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lefford and Daisy Cannaday of Austin, baby girl Starglene Southworth and twin baby boys Lance and Vance Southworth.
Outgoing and welcoming to all, Gay was well known for her loving and caring personality. Time spent with family and friends was what she loved most. Gay completely appreciated life and all the beauty that it offered. She was an adamant collector and admirer of antiques, fortunate to have enjoyed them personally and professionally as the owner of “Hearts and Flowers” and partner of “Room Service”. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, always giving and welcoming, she was the true definition of a lady in every aspect of the word. Her friends and family will forever hold the cherished memories in their hearts and minds.
Services will be held at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos Parker Blvd. NW – Taylor TX 76574 on February 27th, 2016 at 11am.
