Valencia Tenell Henry

Valencia Tanell Henry was born February 17, 1970 at Johns Community Hospital in Taylor, TX. She was the first born of three children to Robert James and Catherine Henry. Valencia confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. She was baptized at the age of three at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Taylor, TX. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Taylor, TX.

Valencia was crowned Junior Miss Black Taylor, TX in 1984. She was a member of the National Honor Society and a graduate of Taylor High School. After high school Valencia attended Huston Tillotson College and Austin Community College where she studied communications. Valencia went on to do some modeling. She worked at Austin Travis County Courthouse for eleven years. She served as a public speaker for breast cancer awareness. Valencia joined the Lighthouse Prayer Center, where Mary Z. Daniels is the pastor.

Valencia passed away peacefully on February 16, 2016 at Brackenridge Hospital. Valencia is survived by her father, Reverend R.J. Henry of Taylor, TX, mother, Catherine Henry Carter of Pflugerville, TX, sister, Athela Henry of Pflugerville, TX, sister, Kathy Thomas and her husband Donnie Thomas, nephew, Stephon High and niece, Katelyn Thomas all of Phenix City, AL. As well as a host of family and friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Jerusalem Pentecostal Church with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
