Emery Neal Lange

Emery Neal Lange Sr. passed away on November 9th surrounded by his loved ones.

Emery was born on September 14th 1925 to parents Fritz Lange and Ida Erdmann Lange, and baptized on September 17th. Emery was confirmed on April 10th, 1939 at Christ Lutheran Church in Noack.
Growing up on a farm with his family, Emery was a hard worker. He worked in the fields planting and plowing crops. He milked the cows, fed the chickens and tended to all household choirs, along with his brothers and sister, to help his mother and disabled father.
After high school, Emery enlisted in the Navy and served in World War II. He was a sailor on the USS Specter, a minesweeper, from 1943 to 1946, which helped in the invasion of Iwa Jima and Okinawa.
On December 21st, 1947 Emery married Selma Rohlack. They were blessed with three children, Debbie, Emery Jr. and Connie.
Emery worked at Alcoa for 30 years and Stiles Farm for 5 years. After retiring, Emery enjoyed spending time with his family, growing his garden, hunting, fishing, and traveling with Selma to visit his Navy buddies and their families.

Emery was Sunday school superintendent at Christ Lutheran Church in Noack for 40 years, a lifetime member of the Thorndale VFW, and a member of the Thrall volunteer fire department.

Emery is preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Ida, his brothers, Milton, Rueben, and sister Earline Klotz.

Emery is survived by his wife Selma of Thrall, son Emery Lange Jr. and wife Jan of Texarkana, daughter Debbie Brinkmeyer and husband Logan of Taylor, daughter Connie Lange of Thrall. Granddaughter Christy Williams and husband Don of Round Rock, granddaughter Tracie Luna and husband John of Taylor, grandson Chad Hendrix and fiancé Tracy of Thrall and granddaughter Caresse Fralicker and husband James of Hutto, and six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Noah, Christopher, Chase, Karaline and Guinevere.

Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Providence Funeral Home

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Providence Funeral Home with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery with Navy Funeral Honors
