Estelle Grace Preuss Zvonek

Estelle Grace Preuss Zvonek of Taylor, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the age of 94 at the SPJST Nursing Home in Taylor where she has resided since Sept. 2007. She was born to Henry Preuss and Annie Schaefer Preuss on Jan. 1, 1921. She graduated from Taylor High School in 1939 and married A. J. Zvonek on Feb. 26, 1942. They had one son, James.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 6 brothers – Charley, Henry, Ollie, Otto, Gilbert, and Roy Preuss; 4 sisters – Cornelia Benad, Florence Miksch, Annie Ponton, and Adelle Cherry; and her husband of 57 years. She is survived by her son James and numerous caring nieces, nephews, and many loving younger cousins who always thought she was their Aunt Estelle.

She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Taylor, St. Ann’s Alter Society, and The Catholic Daughters. Family and friends will remember Estelle as a fun-loving vibrant person, always ready to travel & play cards, and, throughout her entire life, a special giving and unselfish person.

A memorial funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor on Thursday, September 24th at 11:00 A.M. A reception will follow at the SPJST Hall just east of Taylor.
