Georgia Naizer

Georgia Ann (Gaida) Naizer, 88, of Granger went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2015.
Georgia was born on March 2, 1927, to Joe and Annie (Martinets) Gaida. She married Johnnie H. Naizer on February 14, 1949. They were married for 32 years before Johnnie’s death in 1981. Together they had two children, Betty Jane Pekar and Johnnie J. Naizer. She lived in Granger all her life and was a lifelong member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, spending most of her life as a homemaker. In her early years, she enjoyed cooking and serving meals at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her delicious kisses. After the birth of her grandchildren, she enjoyed babysitting each of them and treasured her time with them. She always had a warm, happy smile and enjoyed visiting with people.
Following the death of her husband, Georgia was blessed with the friendship and support of many wonderful ladies, who enjoyed many fun times and trips together. Their love and comradery meant a lot to her.
Georgia was a member of the KJZT, Granger Ladies Fire Auxiliary, SPJST, and was actively involved in the Parent Teachers Club at SS. Cyril & Methodius School while her children attended there.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Johnnie, and her two brothers, Dan and Edward Gaida. She is survived by two children, her daughter, Betty Pekar and husband Terry W. Pekar, and her son, Johnnie J. Naizer and wife Rosanne Naizer, all, of Granger. Her grandchildren include Terry Lee Pekar, Todd Pekar and wife Sarah Pekar, Noel Naizer, and Nolan Naizer, all of Granger, and Tera Pekar of Dallas. Great-grandchildren include JD Morgan, Daniel and Thomas Pekar, of Granger.
Pallbearers include Grandsons Terry Lee Pekar, Todd Pekar, and Nolan Naizer, Great-nephews Greg Steglich, Grant Steglich, and Geremy Steglich. Honorary pallbearers include Gary Gaida, Bobby Gaida, and Danny Mohel
Visitation will be held Friday evening, September 18, 2015, from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 10:00 AM from SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, with the Very Rev. Chris Ferrer officiating. Interment will be at New Calvary Cemetery in Granger.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the many acts of kindness shown to them during this time. Special thanks to the staff at Granger Villa for their care and love extended to Georgia over the past six years.
