Greg Quebe

Greg Quebe, 60 went to be with his Heavenly Father, Saturday, September 5 in Denton, Texas. He had fought a yearlong battle with cancer.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Providence Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at First Baptist Church Taylor. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery.

Greg was born on December 1, 1954 in Taylor, Texas, to Joe S. Quebe and Joyce (Drawe) Quebe. He attended Taylor Public Schools 1st-12th grades. He graduated in 1973. His 6th grade year he lived in Austin with his sister Jeanie and her husband Doug Clark and served as a Senate Page under the term of Governor John Connally.

Greg played football and was a three year letterman for the Taylor Ducks. His senior year he was all District Offensive Guard and Super Centex. He attended Texas A&M where he loved all the great traditions there.

Married Vickie Snider on June 14, 1975 at First Baptist Church, Taylor. They lived in College Station until 1978 and moved back to Taylor where he worked for Quebe Construction Company. He had other careers in law enforcement and sales. In 1999 he and Vickie moved to Decatur, Texas where they live on the land that has been her family since 1899.

His hobbies were hunting, fishing and camping. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed giving them rides on the golf cart when they would visit. Charlie Brown and Buster Brown were his Yorkies which would be at his head and side when he sat in his recliner.

Preceded in death by his son Jeremy Quebe, mother Joyce Drawe Quebe, and his sister Jean Quebe Clark.

Survived by his wife of 40 years Vickie Snider Quebe; Father Joe Quebe of Decatur. Sons Joey and wife Amy of Taylor and Nathan and his wife Holli. Grandchildren Cameron, Will, Bella and Tori. Sister Nancy Seals and her husband Jack. Father and mother in law Billy Joe and Lawana Snider. Sister in laws Terrie Pryor and her husband Merl and Teresa Snider. Nieces and nephews; Matt Teichelman, Russell and Spencer Pryor, Jessica and Jason Seals.

Pallbearers: Matt Teichelman; Russell, Spencer and Merl Pryor; Jack and Jason Seals.

Honorary Pallbearers: Coaches and football players from the Class of 1973.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vickie Quebe, PO Box 654, Decatur Texas to defray medical expenses.
