Carl was born in Harper, Texas. He was the eldest son of Reverend Walter O. Wolf and Hattie Zander Wolf. Carl was baptized March 4, 1928 by his father at St. James Lutheran Church in Harper, Texas. He was later confirmed April 18, 1943, also by his father, at First Lutheran Church in Gonzales, Texas.

Carl attended Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, Texas receiving his degree in 1948. He went on to Pharmacy College at the University of Texas and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy in 1951. He was a Licensed Professional Pharmacist for 34 years working at Peerless Pharmacy in New Braunfels from 1951 to 1985.

Carl served as a medical corpsman in the Texas National Guard as a member of the 36th Infantry Division. He served from 1948 to 1957.
Carl married Leonora Sophie Stoll October 15, 1966 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor. They lived in New Braunfels until 2013 at which time they moved to Taylor to be near family.
In their retirement Carl and Leonora spent countless hours, weeks, and years researching the history of the Lutheran Church in Texas and published a book in 2002 titled Mission to Frontier Texas. This work along with his work on the farms they owned around Taylor kept them both busy for the past two decades.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Hattie (Zander) Wolf, his brothers William Wolf, and David Wolf.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Leonora (Stoll) Wolf, sisters Dorothy Chesley of Austin, Margaret Schulz and husband Rev. Leslie Schulz of Ft. Wright, Kentucky. Nieces Marie Gunter and husband Charles, Joy Schulz, Carol Morgan, Brenda Perry and husband Tim, and Evangeline (Stoll) Barefoot. Nephews Dr. Larry Chesley and wife Laresa, Steve Schulz and wife Brenda, Duane Stoll and wife Sandra, and Mark Stoll and wife Karen as well as numerous great nieces and nephews, and great-great niece and nephew.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Greg Brenhard, Chris Wolf, Steve Wolf, Duane Stoll, Mark Stoll, and Christian Stoll.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Monday, August 10, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Providence Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:00 A.M.
