Annie Malish

August 14, 1924 — July 21, 2015

Annie Cervenka Malish, 90, a life-long resident of Taylor and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, went to be with the Lord on July 21, 2015.

Born August 14, 1924 in Rice’s Crossing to Anton and Frances Cervenka, Annie married Frank Malish in McAlister, Oklahoma where he was stationed at the time. They returned to Taylor where they raised their two daughters and spent their lives together. She loved people and loved having a good time, particularly playing games such as cards, dominoes and bingo and listening to music.

Mrs. Malish was preceded in death by Frank Malish, her husband of 58 years, her parents (Anton and Frances Cervenka) and her three younger siblings (brother Frank Cervenka and wife Mildred; sisters Frances Polasek and husband Henry; and Albina Klepac and husband Johnnie).

She leaves two daughters: Nancy Mokry and husband Raymond of Taylor and Linda Wentrcek and husband Jimmy of Granger; two grandsons: James Mokry and wife Annette of Georgetown; Michael Wentrcek and wife Melissa of Granger; two granddaughters: Deana McLeroy and husband Warren of Flower Mound; and Janlyn Reed and husband William (Bill) of Katy. Also, six great grandchildren: Hailey Heeke and husband Brian, Kaelyn Wentrcek, McKenna Mokry, Quade Mokry , Caleb McLeroy and Madyson Wentrcek; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who fondly knew her as “Aunt Annie.”

Services are Saturday, July 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm at Providence Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 pm on Friday, July 24.
