Elnora Davis, age 85, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Elnora was born on August 28, 1929 in Jonah, Texas. Her parents were Arvid Bernard and Lillie Sundbeck of Austin, Texas. Elnora grew up in the Swedish community of farmers and settlers who resided in eastern Travis County near Decker and Manor. Elnora was a graduate of Manor High School. She was active in sports and did modeling for local department stores in Austin such as Scarborough’s. On July 6th, 1946 she married Joe A. Davis. She and Joe had 3 daughters. Elnora and Joe moved from Austin to Taylor, Texas in 1960. While living in Taylor, Elnora was a member of the Century Club. Once her girls were in school, she worked several years for Balderson & Berger which today is known as BABECO. Elnora, also known as Granny was a talented seamstress and enjoyed making and designing clothes for her and her daughters and grandchildren. In 1995, Elnora retired from the State of Texas, Employees Retirement Services. Following retirement, Elnora enjoyed playing with her great grandchildren, traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Diann Bice of Taylor, Laurie Mohel Levee and husband John of Round Rock. She is also survived by son in law, Dan Mohel of Taylor. Her grandchildren: James E. Bice, Jr. of Taylor, Troy Bice and wife Amanda of Thorndale, Dana Mohel Moehnke and husband Eric of Taylor, Derek Levee and wife Jennifer of Durango, CO, Brett Levee and wife AJ of Hutto, Casey Bice of Bartlett, Blake Levee of Hutto and John T. Mohel and wife Amy of Taylor. Great grandchildren: Blake Lankford, Jesse Bice, Averly Bice, Catherine Bice, Troy (TJ) Davis Bice, Jr., Justin Bice and Haylee Bice; Anoa Hines and Cayden Moehnke; Jessica Scott, Lauren Levee, Luke Levee; Camryn Levee; Ryan Pickett and Ryder Heath Bice; Grayson Levee; and Maddison Mohel. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe A. Davis; an infant son, John Darrell Davis and daughter, Carolyn Davis Mohel; brothers: Eldon, Milton, Bennie and Obert Sundbeck; sister: Elaine Davis; grandson, Heath Alan Bice; and son-in-law James E. Bice, Sr. In other words, she outlived them all!

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12th, 2015 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, officiated by Matt Hudson.
