Elick F Zak

Elick Fred Zak was born May 9, 1921 in Taylor, TX to Frank Zak and Aloisie (Vitek) Zak. Elick left his earthly home on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 94 years and 22 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen Zak, and sister Elise Safarik.

He is survived by his son Johnnie Zak and wife Margie, granddaughter Kendra McDermott and husband Elliott, grandson Bryan Zak, and great granddaughter Caroline McDermott. Also, niece Elfie Rinderknecht and husband William, and nephew Jesse Safarik and wife Marilyn.
Elick was honorably discharged from the Army in 1945 where he returned to Taylor and operated a Zak’s BBQ Restaurant for 30 years.
He loved gardening, fishing, and playing with his dogs.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday June 3rd at Providence funeral home. Services will be held at Providence Funeral Home on Thursday June 4th at 10am with burial to follow in Taylor City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Taylor Brethren Church, PO Box 351, Taylor, TX 76574, or a charity of one’s choice.
We also extend our thanks to the entire Standards Hospice Staff of Cameron for the excellent specialized service they provided during dads last months. And, a special thank you to Tammy and Melissa. And to all our family and friends for your love and support during these many years, thank you.
