Ruthie Rosalie Brinkmeyer

June 2, 1934 — May 27, 2015

Ruthie Rosalie Brinkmeyer passed away peacefully in her sleep, Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at the age of 80.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Hildo & Martha Prinz, brother Albert Prinz of Coupland and daughter Gay Lynn Brinkmeyer of Taylor.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years James L. Brinkmeyer, her brother Wayland & wife Marjorie Prinz of Round Rock, her son Brian Brinkmeyer & wife Camille Walker Brinkmeyer, two grandsons Rex Brian Brinkmeyer, wife Julie Rohlack Brinkmeyer, and Noah James Brinkmeyer all of Taylor. She is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand nephews and nieces, and cousins.

Ruthie attended grade school in Coupland, TX and graduated from Elgin High School in 1951. There she was cheerleader and point guard for the varsity basketball team.

Ruthie married Jimmy on March 6, 1955. Ruthie & Jimmy joined St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1957 where they were sponsors of the Luther League, impacting numerous lives. So much so, that many still stay in contact today. Ruthie was also a Sunday school teacher for ten years and spent a lifetime volunteering for the community and friends. She truly was a good Samaritan with a servient heart.

Ruthie and Jimmy raised two beautiful children, and two wonderful grandsons. Ruthie & Jimmy loved to go to the Debonaire Dances and watch their son, Brian, play the drums and would two step and waltz the night away. It would be safe to say they led 100's of Grand Marches for weddings in the area.

Her two grandsons were her pride and joy. Ruthie taught them many life lessons and was their first true coach for all sports. She was their biggest fan and never missed a game or event.

All those who were blessed to know her loved her. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Gay Lynn Brinkmeyer Scholarship Fund at City National Bank in Taylor. She would also love it if you wear "Big Earrings" in her honor.

Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery.
