Lucille K. Trcka

November 11, 1930 — April 15, 2015

Lucille Kaiser Trcka left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, after a short illness. She was born in Taylor, Texas, on November 11, 1930, to John and Elsie (Schroeder) Kaiser. She was baptized and confirmed at Wuthrich Hill Lutheran Church. On April 14, 1948, she married Alfred Trcka.

Lucille was more than a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother -- she was our friend. She never met a stranger and was always smiling. In her early years, she and Alfred worked at Diamond Inn in Taylor. They moved to Austin shortly after the birth of their first daughter, Bonnie. She then worked at Checker Front Grocery Store and Mrs. Johnson's Bakery (she always smelled so good when she got home!). After the birth of their second daughter, Pam, they moved back to Taylor and ran the SPJST Hall. After about a year and a half, she and Alfred moved back to Austin where she worked for Behren's Drug Company until her retirement. She then found employment with the Pflugerville ISD, working in the cafeteria at several elementary schools. After injuring her hand in a mixer accident, she worked alongside Alfred again at the Double R Convenience Store for several years.

Alfred passed away on January 31, 1996, and 3 years later she moved back to her home town. She loved watching the Price is Right, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She loved to dance and play dominoes. She also enjoyed travelling, taking trips with her daughter Bonnie to Las Vegas, Shreveport, and California (to name a few). She went to Hawaii with Bonnie and her oldest grandson, Jonathan; enjoyed a weeklong trip to Disneyworld with Bonnie, Pam and her family; and, she travelled to Mount Rushmore with Bonnie and her grandson, Brandon. All of these adventures making for wonderful memories for her family to cherish.

In September 2001, she went to a Vrazel Polka Fest in Las Vegas where she met Anton Pokorny. This was the start of an almost 14-year relationship consisting of a lot of dancing, domino-playing and love and laughter. She was so lucky to have found love again so late in her life.

Lucille was an active member of the Taylor Brethren Church. She also was a member of the Christian Sisters, SPJST Lodge 29, and a past Pink Lady volunteer at John's Community Hospital.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, her husband of almost 48 years and a son-in-law, Hubert Dubec.

Lucille is survived by her daughters Bonnie Rathke (Russell) and Pam Dubec (Albin); grandchildren Jonathan Rathke (Kathy Shannon), Lance Dubec (Amanda), Brandon Dubec (Brandy) and Amanda Dubec; great-grandchildren James Rathke, Maddie Dubec, Grace Dubec, Javen Dubec (due on July 4, 2015), and Kendall Deroulac; and, of course, her honey, Anton Pokorny and his family.

Honoring Lucille as pallbearers are Jonathan Rathke, Lance Dubec, Brandon Dubec, Emil Pokorny, Jr., Ricky Kaiser and Galen Schroeder. Honorary pallbearers are Russell Rathke, Albin Dubec, Mike Daffin, Paul Pokorny, Tony Pokorny and Edward Betak.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Providence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, at the Taylor Brethren Church. Burial will be in the Cook Walden/Memorial Hill cemetery.
