Gay loved to travel and enjoyed being stationed in different locations around the United States while Wayne was serving in the military. Wayne was introduced to her one evening when his brother showed up with two dates. Wayne became her escort and their relationship began from there. One of the activities Gay loved most, other than her family, was playing slot machines. With four boys, there was always an argument of who was “her favorite son”, and many times it became a lively topic of discussion throughout the family. Gay loved her boys with all her heart, and as each boy married, she loved their wives just as much. When anybody asked she always introduced them as “my girls”. Though she only had four boys you could not tell by all of the friends of the boys that knew her only by “Mama” which attested to her devotion to family. Gay was finally blessed with a girl, her first grandchild Stephanie, and Mama became MIMI. As the grandkids kept coming, she ended up with 8 girls and 5 boys. She lived for her grandkids and was constantly doing everything she could to help care for them. One of Gay’s favorite activities was spoiling her grandkids rotten and then sending them home, then telling her boys payback is sweet with a smile on her face. Everyone could always expect a daily call or text just to check in and a simple “I Love You”. Gay was loving, dedicated, loyal, and would do anything for anyone who was in need.
