Bernice Gladys Kruse

Bernice Gladys Kruse, 91, who lived in Taylor, Texas, passed away March 16, 2015. Bernice was born December 21, 1923 in Williamson County Texas. Bernice was the daughter of Charlie Stalmach and Clara A. Stalmach. Bernice was proceeded in death by Vivian (Clarence) Stauffer, BC (Leona) Stalmach, Donald Stalmach, and sister in law Dorothy Stalmach. Bernice is survived by Dauris (Aubrey) Galbreath and Charles Stalmach.

Bernice was wed to Wilburn (Willie) Kruse on November 24, 1951 in Taylor Brethren Church. Bernice graduated from Taylor High School in 1942. She worked at Lone Star Gas in Taylor and various finance companies in San Antonio. Bernice and Wilburn moved to San Antonio in 1954 and returned to Taylor to retire in 1996. Bernice enjoyed singing in the choir for over 70 years. Since returning to Taylor, Bernice was a member of the Taylor Brethren Church.

Bernice is survived by her husband of 63 years Wilburn Kruse, children Gary (Ruby) Kruse, Bonnie Conaway, Russ (Jan) Kruse, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by Klaus Tilmes, a former German exchange student who became an extended son.

Visitation will held at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor on Friday, March 20th from 6-8pm. Services will be held on Saturday, March 21st at 2pm at Taylor Brethren Church, and she will be laid to rest in Grandpa Hejl’s plot at Taylor City Cemetery.
