Timothy Ray Hutcherson

December 4, 1964 — February 21, 2015

Timothy Ray Hutcherson, 50, of Taylor, Texas suddenly flew on the wings of angels to heaven on February 21, 2015. Tim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. In his younger years he worked in law enforcement and emergency services and developed a lifelong admiration for those professions.

He spent many years working alongside his father and brother, and devoted his life to family and friends. He was a professional photographer who photographed nature, weddings, graduations, and family milestones. He photographed the Texas Lawman's Association Convention annually. Tim enjoyed the hobby of remote controlled airplanes and helicopters, and even turned this hobby into a profession, where he flew a miniature helicopter equipped with a camera to inspect flare stacks for refineries across the country. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved spending time with family enjoying these activities. He was known for his perfect BBQ techniques, and his famous hot sauce recipe brought joy and heat to many gatherings, and will never be duplicated. No matter what Tim did, he would always strive to do his best and gained a reputation for being a perfectionist. He was a kid-at-heart and was loved by all of the children who knew him. It's even been said that he was a true "baby whisperer" because he could calm any baby and put them to sleep.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his wife Jeannette, his brother Tommy, and many friends and had the opportunity to ride through the Rockies into Canada with his brother-in-law, Bruce. Tim was a rock for his extended family and always made sure that newcomers felt welcome, and he always made an effort to get to know and connect with them. Tim never met a stranger and he was a living example of treating people the way you want to be treated. Any one of his siblings or nieces and nephews would swear that they were his favorite. He had a way of making people feel loved and special, and everyone would agree he would do anything for anyone.

In 1983 Tim met Jeannette Gibbs, the love of his life. They were married on June 18, 1984 in Eldorado, Texas. He was her husband, protector, best friend and soulmate for thirty-one years. Their marriage was blessed with two children Ray and Chelsie. Together, Tim and Jeannette enjoyed camping, motorcycle riding, range shooting, mexican food dinners, movies, and spending time with friends and family. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with the light of his life, his grandson, Jaxon.

Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Ruth Hutcherson, his brother-in-law, Marvin Shurley and his nephew, Nick Shurley.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette, his son Ray Hutcherson and Jennifer, daughter Chelsie Hutcherson and Stephen, his grandson, Jaxon Mitchell Jones. He is also survived by his father, Henry Horace Hutcherson II, sisters Jan Tomes (Bruce), Wanda Shurley, and Sandy Hutcherson, brothers Tommy Paxton (Joy), Hank Hutcherson (Tina), Rick McCluney (Sylvia) and Jeff Hutcherson (Allison), mother-in-law, Delores Gibbs, brother-in-law, Elisha Gibbs, twenty-five nieces and nephews, and sixteen great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation and viewing will be held at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas on Thursday, February 26th from 5-7pm, with a memorial service beginning at 7pm. Tim's wishes were to have his ashes scattered in places he loved. Memorials in honor of Tim's life can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, Boy Scouts of America or a charity of your choosing.
