Fred Krueger of the Frame Switch Community was born on the family farm December 22, 1920 to Herman Krueger and Bertha Belz Krueger. Fred lived and worked the farm all his life, never living anywhere else. He departed this earthly life February 19, 2015, outliving all his family members (age wise, 94 years, 1 month and 28 days).
Fred got his education in the Yakey Schoolhouse at Frame Switch. He played baseball as the pitcher.
Fred was baptized and confirmed at West Taylor Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served the church for many years on the Council, mowing the grounds, planting the landscape, being the communion preparer and serving on the Cemetery Association.
Fred and Dorothy were married October 8, 1943. To this union 3 children were born: Cynthia Krueger, Laura Hanson (Ron) and Mark Krueger (Pat). Fred and Dorothy lived and worked the family farm (established in 1890) and the farm is still operational. Fred and Dorothy were members of the Farm Bureau since 1951. Fred was awarded the Master Farmer for 1969.
For over 58 years, Fred entertained many residents with accordion music. He raised a garden each year and shared the produce with friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, 2 brothers and his wife of almost 68 ½ years on March 1, 2012.
