Larry Wayne Brinkmeyer

Larry Wayne Brinkmeyer of Maineville, Ohio, formerly of Round Rock, Texas, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015. He was born in Taylor, Texas, on September 4, 1941 to Theodore and Mary Brinkmeyer. Larry married the love of his life, Elizabeth Joan Rister, in Taylor on June10, 1961. During Larry’s 20-year career in the Navy, he and Liz traveled the world together, moving almost 25 times in their lives. After Larry's retirement from the Navy in December, 1979, he worked for the City of Beeville, San Marcos, Austin, Round Rock, and Pflugerville in their building inspection and Green Building departments for another 25 years. There wasn't anything Larry couldn't do, whether it was home building and repair, auto mechanics, or electrical work; if he didn't know how, he learned! He was always willing to help family and friends using his skills, with Liz as his working partner.

Larry is survived by his wife Elizabeth, their two daughters and their husbands, Carol and Christopher Wroten of Round Rock; and Cathy and Randall Graves of West Chester, Ohio. Surviving grandchildren are Allison Graves, Elizabeth and Jennifer Wroten and; brother, Wilbur Brinkmeyer and wife Donnie of Taylor; sister Linda Brinkmeyer and husband Scott Buechler of Round Rock; brothers and sisters-in-law Ernest and Joan Rister of Round Rock, John and Linda Rister of Walburg, and Charles Dundas of Clinton, Mo; as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by parents Theodore and Mary Brinkmeyer of Taylor and sister, Marilyn, father and mother-in-law Lee and Deloris Rister of Walburg and Patsy Dundas of Clinton, Mo.

The funeral service will be held at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor on February 20th at 10:00 A.M. with full military burial to follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or The American Brain Tumor Association. "Larry, we miss you, but know you are making the Angels in Heaven laugh."
