Sylvia Galvan Sanchez, 54, of Brownsville, Texas, died December 31, 2014 in Round Rock after a short battle with breast cancer.

She is preceded in death by her grandmother Felipa Rivera and her mother Juanita Briones. She is survived by her son Charlie Sanchez, Jr. (Kelly) of Hutto, Texas and Alexis Holliman (Corey) of Overland Park, Kansas, four beautiful grandchildren, Mia, Jackson, Isabella, and Charlie. She is also survived her father Ernesto Galvan, her sisters Ernestine Cantu, Diana Leticia Moreno, Elisa Gonzalez, Criselda Briones, Rubina Briones, and brothers Javier Briones, Jesus Briones lll Rogelio Briones, and Rafael Briones all from Brownsville, Texas.

She was a member of Shoreline Christian Church and Celebration Church in Austin, Texas. Sylvia worked at St. Williams Catholic Church in Round Rock, Texas for many years coordinating religious education classes. She also loved reading to her grandchildren, antique shopping, dancing, and going to the movies. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A celebration of her life and visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos Parker Blvd., Taylor, Texas. Chapel services will be Saturday, January 3 at 11am at the funeral home.
