Bernice B. Schroeder, age 91 of Taylor passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014. She was born November 26, 1923 in Taylor to Emma and Ewald Bunge.
Bernice lived in the Taylor area her entire life.
She lived on the family farm and helped raise her younger brothers when her mother passed away at an early age. After her marriage May 29, 1942 she was a homemaker for many years. In 1959 she went to work at Schwenker Pharmacy where she was employed until she became ill in 1996. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family, playing cards, trips to Las Vegas, and going to the hunting lease with her husband, his hunting buddies, and their wives. She was a sports fan and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves on TV even after she resided in the SPJST Rest Home. At the rest home she was known for her welcoming smile.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Herbert Schroeder, her son, James Schroeder, her father and four brothers, Melvin Bunge, Leroy Bunge, Lester Bunge, and Arthur Bunge, and also her step-mother, Esther Bunge.
Bernice is survived by her daughter; Carol Davis, her son Doug Schroeder, grandson; Brian Davis and his wife Carol, granddaughter; Shannon Davis, grandson, Trevin Davis, and great-grandson; Collin Davis, brother; Ewald Bunge and several other family members.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 1, 2014 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at Providence Funeral Home
Celebration of Life Services will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Providence Funeral Home with burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery
