Robert Franklin Edwards

Robert Franklin Edwards, 72, of Taylor, passed away at the VA Hospital in Temple, TX on November 19, 2014.
Bob was the son of John R. Edwards and Elsie Jo Phillips Edwards of Birmingham, AL and Destin, FL.

After graduating from West End High School in Birmingham, Bob received a B.A. degree from the University of Alabama where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He attended Officer’s Candidate School in Newport, RI and served on the U.S.S. Terrebone Parish, LST, out of Norfolk, VA.
Bob received his MBA from the University of Louisville prior to moving to Houston, TX.

His many years spent in San Diego, CA were enjoyed by deep sea fishing off Cabo and flying private planes.
After his retirement from Sempra Energy, Bob moved to Texas where he worked for the City of Taylor in the Animal Control Department and, most recently, at the Municipal Airport.

Bob is survived by 2 children: Ashley Edwards Jung of Manvel, TX and Jon Scott Edwards of San Diego, and grandchildren: Avery Jung, Jacob Jung and Eleanor (Ellie) Edwards.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 25 at 2pm at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.
