Ella V. Kropp

Ella Vera Kropp passed away October 28, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She was the youngest daughter of Aloise and Frank Trcka.

Ella graduated from Granger High School and moved to Taylor to attend the LVN Nursing Program at Johns Hospital where she remained a nurse for 58 years. She was gifted in her profession. All her patients appreciated her exceptional care.

She married her beloved husband, Joe D. Kropp, August 13, 1949. Ella was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and altar society. Family was always important to Ella. She loved cooking and having family gatherings. She was especially known for her fried chicken and turkey and dressing. She loved taking trips to Las Vegas and playing the Lotto. Ella enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Ella always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. She had no problem striking up a conversation and her wit and humor was contagious.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband Joe, infant son Kenneth Wayne, her parents, sisters and brothers Louise Hyzak, Angeline Zrubek, Mary Carr, Agnes Finch, Joan Martin, Anita Zrubek, Barbara McCaffrey, Ludmilla Forti, Frank Trcka, Charles Trcka and Lee Trcka.

Ella is survived by her daughters Barbara and husband John Maruska and Judy Kropp, grandchildren Kyle and wife Sherri Maruska, April and husband Seth Callihan, Ja’nae Rathke, great grandchildren Charli & Jaci Callihan and Rylee Jo Maruska.

Ella’s family would like to thank all her caregivers at the SPJST Nursing Home and Taylor Scott & White Hospital.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Celebration of Life Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 31, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Taylor City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dervie Balusek, Jerry Balusek, Russell Balusek, John Maruska, Kyle Maruska and Seth Callihan.
