Gilbert G Becker

Gilbert G. Becker, 87 of Thorndale passed away Monday, October 6, 2014.

He was born in Thorndale on March 20, 1927 to Freida and George Becker.
He attened school at St. Paul Lutheran Church School in Thorndale. Sometime later he joined the US Navy and served during WWII.

After his time in the Navy he owned and operated a service station. He later went to work for Alcoa in Rockdale where he retired after a lengthy employment with them.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ina, his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Gilbert is survived by his sisters; Ruby Krause, Bernice Weise, and Ila Mae Jansky, one brother, Erwin Becker; step-daughter, Marlene Swihart and husband Al; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Providence Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. Burial to follow at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery
