Leroy Harry Wuensche

Leroy Harry Wuensche, 80, graduated to Heaven on Friday, September 5, 2014, at home in the presence of his family.

Leroy was born August 26, 1934 in Thorndale, Texas to Leonard and Frieda (Limmer) Wuensche.
On October 2, 1955, Leroy married his sweetheart, Shirley Biar. Together, they enjoyed 60 years of farming, ranching, and custom hay bailing in the Thorndale/Thrall area.

Leroy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale, serving on the Finance Committee for 26 years. He served on the board of directors for Milam County Farm Bureau for 10 years. He enjoyed selling Garst seed to area farmers for 20 years. He was an Associate Member of the Thorndale Volunteer Fire department since its inception. He served the Thrall Cooperative Grain Company as a member of the Board of Directors, and currently as president for over a decade.

In 2011, Leroy was chosen Farmer of the Year by the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce.
Leroy was a compassionate man of God; a loving, caring, selfless, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles Wuensche, and brother-in-law Jerry Fisher.

He is survived by wife Shirley, daughter Karlen Watson,and husband Larry, daughter Debbie Cepak and husband Bubba, daughter Dena Ebeling and husband Norman, grandchildren LeShell Reeves, LaNae Cepak, Matthew Watson, and Eleesha Ebeling; great-grandchildren Emily and Fender Reeves; brothers Freddie Wuenshce and wife Carol, Bobby Wuensche, and wife Ruth Ann, and Leonard Wuensche Jr.; sister Evelyn Felfe; sister-in-law Alice Wuensche; brother-in-laws Jerry Biar and wife Linda, Billy Biar and wife Lou; sister-in-laws Geraldine Biar (friend Victor York) and Donna Fisher, and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Jimmy Gillmore, Karl Wuensche, Billy Darren Biar, Brian Fisher, John Wuensche, and Scott Schaefer.

Honorary Pallbearers are Kendall Reiger, Billy Felfe, Vincent Richter, Thrall CoOp Board Members Michael Schwettmann, Ken Seggern, Clayton Seggern, George Knapek, and secretaries Angie Becker and Carmel Newman.

Visitation begins at 6:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm, Monday, September 8, 2014 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Services will be at 2:30 pm Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale, Texas, with Pastor Scott Schaller officiating. Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
