Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother was called home to the Lord on Monday morning after a hard fought battle with Cancer. She faced this devastating disease with a never-ending will and we are in awe of her perseverance. She was surrounded with the love of the family she had built and we are comforted by that security. Her proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, she was our Momo and we will forever hold her in our hearts!
Karen Barrington was born on October 1, 1942 in Taylor, Texas, where she enjoyed her childhood. She met the love of her life, Donald Barrington and they married on July 7, 1960. They made the decision to relocate to Waco, Texas where Donald worked as an engineer and Karen relished in her role as a homemaker, and volunteering at her local church.
In 1985 Donald and Karen relocated to Austin to be closer to their family. Karen re-embarked on her career in the insurance industry, retiring in 2005. Continuing her desire to help others, she volunteered hours and hours at Seton Hospital as well as Covenant Methodist Food Pantry.
