Alice was born January 18, 1919 in Thorndale, Texas to her parents, Henry Heintze and Selma (Fritsche) Heintze. Following her mother’s death three days later, Alice was baptized next to Selma’s casket. One year later Henry married Alma (Patschke) Heintze who lovingly raised and cared for Alice.
The Lord gave Alice 95 years to serve as His child on earth until he called her home on July 3, 2014.
In 1939 she married Martin Moerbe who passed away April 25, 1983. Alice is survived by three married daughters, Carolyn Grace Rivers (Wyndell) of Liberty Hill, Tx; Mary Ann Horn (Glenn) of Burnet, Tx; and Doris Ruth Bledsoe (Darrell) of Lorena, Tx. Other survivors include 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother (Edward Heintze) and a sister (Margaret Heintze Patschke).
Alice was an active charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Taylor where she served many years as a Sunday School Teacher and member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She was recognized by the former Johns Community Hospital for more than 10,000 hours of volunteer service as a member of the Pink Lady Auxiliary.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of SPJST Rest Home for their patient and tender care of Alice Ruth.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Providence Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylor. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery.
