Richard Carroll Barrett, 74, of Taylor, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at home with his wife, Christine, at his bedside. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Willie D. and Minnie Pearl Barrett he lived most of his early years in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Richard and Christine met and married in Bossier City, Louisiana in 1961 and enjoyed 52 years of marriage. He is survived by three daughters, Susan Barrett Conditt and her husband Chris, of Taylor, Sharon Barrett Conditt and her husband James, of Pflugerville and Shelley Barrett Parrett and her husband Kurt of Prairie Village, Kansas. In addition, Richard had two grandchildren which were the light of his life, Matthew Grant Barrett of Pflugerville and Kara Tennyson Parrett of Prairie Village, Kansas. He is also survived by his beloved brother William “Bill” Barrett of Mooresville, North Carolina, sister Donna Barrett of Bossier City, Louisiana, as well as several nieces, nephews and close friends.
Richard and Christine are members of First Baptist Church of Taylor and the family finds comfort in knowing Richard is in heaven with the Lord.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos G. Parker Blvd, Taylor, Texas. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the funeral home, officiated by Dr. Matt Hudson of First Baptist Church. Pall bearers will be Jim Faircloth of Minden, Louisiana, James Conditt of Pflugerville, David Barrett of Corpus Christi, Kurt Parrett of Prairie Village, Kansas, Chris Conditt of Taylor and Matthew Barrett of Pflugerville. Honorary pall bearers are William “Bill” Barrett of Mooresville, North Carolina, Claude Cline of Taylor, Bobby Johnson of Hutto and JR Vasquez of Austin.
