Lorenzo “Hot Rod” Oviedo, Sr., 73, of Bartlett passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, May 26, 2014 with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Providence Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday May 27, 2014 at Providence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Granger.
Lorenzo was born September 5, 1940 to Enrique and Cresencia (Hernandez) Oviedo. He loved to work on old cars and hot rods. Lorenzo was known to be a very hard worker. He also enjoyed fishing, listening to music (Ramon Ayala), but most of all was spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Enrique and Cresencia Oviedo; his first wife, Janie Cruz Oviedo; a sister, Elenor Lopez; and two graddaughters, Meagan and Vicki Lee Ann Oviedo.
Lorenzo is survived by his wife, San Juanita Oviedo of Bartlett; brother, Diego Oviedo and wife Regina, of Taylor; sister, Loreza Garcia of Austin; sons, Lorenzo Oviedo, Jr. of Bartlett, Arthur Oviedo and wife Diana, Joe Oviedo and wife Irma, and James Oviedo Sr. and wife Richelle all of Taylor; daughter Rebecca Martinez and husband Galdino of Bartlett and Marie Oviedo and fiancé Juan Cruz of Bartlett; and numerous great grandchildren, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jose Oviedo, James Oviedo, Jr., Joe Carranza, Robert Nava, Benny Delgado, Sr. Kenny Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Josue Martinez, Elijah Oviedo, Helio Oviedo, Israel Oviedo, Edgar Oviedo, Diego Cruz, and Roman Lopez.
