Roselee Prikryl

October 31, 1925 — May 11, 2014

Roselee Catherine Prikryl graduated to the fullness of her life and went to be with her Lord and Savior on May11th 2014. Roselee was born to Rufus and Amelia Jasek Prikryl in Granger, TX on October 31, 1925.

She is survived by her brother, Rufus Prikryl, of Granger, TX, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and countless friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Clementine Prikryl, Olga Matl and Joe, and Hattie Dahl and Harold and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Zigmund Prikryl and Agnes, Andrew Prikryl and Mary Ella, Ike Prikryl and Gertye Mae, Johnny Prikryl and Marilyn, Emily Prikryl and Mary Prikryl.

Roselee attended Granger schools and a business school in Austin, TX. She was employed by Southwestern Bell in Austin, TX for forty years. She held many prestigious jobs during her career and was a member of the Pioneers. Prior to her retirement, she moved to Taylor, TX to be closer to her family. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and St. Anne’s Altar Society. She loved to travel and became a member of the Granger Road Runners. She had an infectious laugh, a tender and generous spirit and shepherded many of her relatives and friends in their last hours here on this earth. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed planning big get-togethers to visit, eat and play dominos and Taroks. Many of her afternoons were spent with friends playing dominos at the SPJST Hall in Taylor, TX.

In April 2007, Roselee decided to become a resident at Cedar Ridge, an Alzheimer’s facility, in Cedar Park, TX. The Prikryl family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Cedar Ridge for their tender and loving care of Roselee. The Prikryl family would also like to extend their gratitude to the entire Doerr family, but most especially to her niece and initial guardian, Alice Matl Doerr, who pre-deceased Roselee in the summer of 2011 and to Mark Doerr, her great nephew and subsequent guardian, for his dedication and attentiveness to Roselee’s every need.

Visitation and recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday May 16th at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, TX. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on May 17th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Austin, TX. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, TX.
