Sylvia Foster

October 7, 1935 — April 15, 2014

Our beloved, feisty mother, Charlene Foster, born on October 7th 1935 in Lithonia Georgia, got to go home to be with Our Lord and Savior on April 15th, 2014 (she never did like paying taxes).
She was a friend to many and would help anyone who needed it, she loved her puppy “Little Man”, reading Romance Novels and Louis Lamoure stories, she loved to garden and had a green thumb that could make beautiful flowers and plants seemingly just appear from pots of dirt. She had such a keen sense of humor and so many great stories and life experiences to share, and she always had a dish of candy for her great grandsons.
Those who knew her loved her and those who didn’t know her really missed out.
She will be welcomed home by loved ones who went before, her dear parents Willie and Nellie McDaniel, her baby sister Niedra Schillereff, brother in law G.T. Tipton, sons Mitchell and Michael Foster and the love of her life, her beloved husband Jack Boyd Foster Jr.
She is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Tipton of Arizona and Eyvonne Braun and husband Jim of Oregon. Daughters Loretta Noble and husband Harold of St. Joseph Missouri, Cheryl Wattenberger and husband Eddie of Rock Springs Georgia, Carlotta Winchester and husband Franklin of Taylor Texas, Michelle Hernandez of Austin Texas and her baby girl and name sake Jackie Foster (who also inherited her mother’s quick wit and sarcasm). Sons Ronnie Foster and wife Lisa of Cleveland Ohio, Robert Foster and wife Shellie of Grandview Missouri and Jimmy Foster of Anahuac Texas, and although they were no longer married to her daughters (Jackie & Michelle), she still considered them her sons, Rodney Kruse of Taylor Texas and Tim Lopez of College Station Texas, as well as her longtime caregiver and friend, Kandis Steward.

She also leaves behind 28 grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
We would also like to thank the wonderful nursing staff at Cornerstone, especially Leilani and Tammie who were so attentive and loving to our mother during her brief time there. They went above and beyond to make her comfortable and treated her with respect and love.
Momma was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and friends on the day of her passing. She was there when all of us took our first breaths and we were blessed to be with her as she took her last.
