Mary Agnes Mazac (Valis) age 90 of Taylor, Texas passed peacefully on Thursday April 10th. She was born on December 6, 1923 in Taylor, Texas to John and Josephine Valis. Mary was preceded in death by Jerry Mazac, her husband of 65 years; Parents John and Josephine Valis; Sisters-Josephine Gage & Dorothy Betak; Brothers-Louis & William. Nephews-George Wayne Gage & Louis Michael Valis. Mary is survived by her sister Annie Klepac and brother John; 9 nieces; 7 nephews; 20 great-nieces; 19 great-nephews; 14 great-great-nieces; 16 great-great-nephews plus one great-great nephew on the way.
Mary and Jerry were married on October 14, 1942. They farmed for years in many of the small towns surrounding Taylor. They retired from farming and moved to Taylor and mowed yards part time to supplement their income and for the fun of it. They truly loved and cherished their friendships with their customers. They enjoyed driving around in the country and visiting family and friends. They loved dancing, listening to Czech music, playing dominoes and tarots and Yahoo. Mary was one of the kindest, gentlest souls and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Viewing will be at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas on April 11, 2014 at 6pm with Rosary to follow at 7pm. Services will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor, Texas on April 12, 2014 at 10am with graveside services to follow.
