Jerry F Kubacak

Jerry F. Kubacak, 84, of Taylor, died peacefully in his home while asleep on Saturday, April 5.  He was born on January 9, 1930 in Taylor to Frank J. and Martha Barta Kubacak.  Jerry's mother died when he was a very young boy and he was raised by his dad and Step Mother Marie Kropp Kubacak.

At age 17, Jerry joined the United States Army and served with the 2nd Division in Washington State as a Military Policeman.  Following his discharge from the service, he worked beside his father on the farm.

After farming, Jerry spent his life managing the wood working business.  He began in 1953 at Motex Mfg. Company in Taylor which later became Taylor Mfg. Company.  In 1968, Jerry set up a new plant in Taylor, Enterprise Scientific, which he ran for seven years.  He left there to join management at Economy Furniture Industries in Austin, Texas where he was employed for 21 years until his retirement in 1997.

Jerry married Sybil Valla of Granger on May 26, 1952.  Jerry and Sybil had two children.  A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sybil Valla Kubacak; daughter Ramona Bonds and husband Barry of Sherman, and son Wayne Kubacak and wife Patti of Taylor.

Jerry is also survived by his sisters Mrs. Frances Hurta of Austin, Mrs. Evelyn Kneblik of Keller, Mrs. Helen Horn of Austin; brothers Leroy Kubacak of Austin, and Daniel Kropp of Granger; grandchildren Shane Kubacak  and wife Amber of McKinney, Morgan Sims and husband Daray of Desoto, Cody Dlouhy and wife Lacie and Brooke Dlouhy of Taylor; great-grandchildren Jackson Kubacak, Maliyah Sims, Camryn Urbis, Rylie and Avery Dlouhy; grand-dogs Freddy Bonds and Gracie Kubacak.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Edward Kubacak.

Rosary will be  held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8 at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Services will be on April 9, Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m . at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylor with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
