Ruby Lee Seidel

Ruby Lee Balusek Seidel, 83, of Taylor, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel in Taylor. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor with Rev. Msgr. Lonnie Urban officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Ruby was born October 27, 1930 in Taylor, TX to Joe E. and Annie Palla Balusek. She lived most of her life in Taylor, moving in 2012 to an assisted living center in Belton. On May 28, 1949, Ruby married Ellis Joseph Seidel and they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 27, 2009.

Ruby was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she was a member of Catholic Daughters and St. Anne’s Altar Society. In addition to being a wonderful homemaker, Ruby worked as a supervisor at a sewing factory for many years as well as working in the accounting department at Intercraft. Ruby had a passion for sewing and loved creating clothing for her family, especially her granddaughters. She was a beautiful person inside and out, always gracious, always with a smile on her face, always loving unconditionally. She never met a stranger. Her life was such a blessing to her family and friends and she left them amazing examples of being a mother, a grandmother and great-grandmother and a friend. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. She especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves her family a wonderful legacy and boundless special memories.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ruby is preceded in death by brothers Frank, Emil, Charlie, Jerry, Joe, Edwin, William, John and Leon Balusek, and sisters Isedell Eilers and Bernice Leonard.

Ruby is survived by daughter Linda Fuessel (Kurt) of Gatesville and son Bruce Seidel (Ann) of Taylor; grandchildren Erik Fuessel (Sherry), Nathan Fuessel (Chelsea), Mark Fuessel, Brandon Seidel (Standela), Amber Schultz (Brad) and Krista Seidel; step-grandchildren Jaimie Holt and Amanda Turner (Matt); great-grandchildren Ellis, Hogan, and Liesl Fuessel, Dharma Saiz, Reni and John Fuessel; step-grandchildren Skylar and Dillon Turner; sister Rose Simcik and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to the charity of one’s choice in Ruby’s memory.
