Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a great cattleman and cowboy. He was born in Taylor, TX on November 13, 1936. He graduated from Taylor High School. He worked for Capitol Land and Livestock , Tommy Steiner Rodeo Company, Sloan Williams, and Cecil A. Hill Rodeo Producer. He owned and operated Taylor Livestock Auction for 38 years, having a cattle sale every Wednesday and a horse sale once a month. Don had many attributes to the rodeo industry, one being an active member for many years of the Taylor Rodeo Association, serving as an officer and director multiple times including President. Don also was the booster club for 4-H and FFA before they existed, for the Williamson County Livestock Show in Georgetown and the Taylor Livestock Show that of which he hosted for many years at the Taylor Livestock Barn. Don had a special place in his heart for all children and especially those with disabilities, whether it be physical or monetary. In his later years of watching his granddaughters show, he cried real tears for the less fortunate at the livestock show sale, when a child was left standing with no bid, regardless of circumstance. He purchased as many of those projects as he could, many times with an alias, not wanting any credit. He truly believed in giving everyone a chance. “Don was the most honorable, fairest and best man I’ve ever known” too many to mention.

At his life end, the greatest gift he leaves is the yearning in each of our hearts to be more like him. The world would be a better place. He, in his true southern gentlemen style, was a man of great kindness and compassion for all. In Don’s words “Mighty fine and thank you kindly”.

Don is survived by his wife Donna Hill Shiller, daughter and son-in-law Dawn Shiller Sizemore and Trey Sizemore, granddaughters Tiffany Nicole Sizemore and Tandi Marie Sizemore and soon to be grandson-in-law Vance Wayne Purcell, all of Thorndale, mother-in-law Maxine Hill of Taylor, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Alford and Carolyn Hill of Round Mountain, nephew and wife Hoyt and Caroline Hill and their two children Garrett and Sadie of Austin, niece Patches Hill and her two children Macy and Ty and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Don is predeceased by his mother and father Ann Marie Shiller and Ivan Shiller, his father-in-law Cecil A. Hill and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
