Gweneth Purvis

September 1, 1933 — December 14, 2013

Gweneth Purvis
(September 1, 1933 - December 14, 2013)

Born in Abernathy Texas on September 1, 1933, Gweneth Darline Brewer was the 3rd of 8 children to Luther and Dellora Brewer. She had 2 older brothers, 3 younger sisters and 2 younger brothers.

Gweneth married Bobby Purvis in 1954. Together they raised 3 children who all adored, respected, and loved her deeply.

Gweneth worked in the medical field as an X-ray technician in the Plainview hospital until they moved to south Texas in the late 70’s.

Upon their retirement, Bobby and Gweneth moved to Thorndale, Texas. This allowed them to get back to their roots of being in a farming community, yet be closer to their children and grandchildren.

After the death of her husband of 50 years, Gweneth moved in with her daughter and best friend. After a long and painful battle with her health, it was with her daughter by her side and holding her hand that Gweneth left this earth to be with her heavenly father.

Gweneth is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Dellora Brewer, brother, Duane Brewer, sisters, Mary Brewer, Nannie Jarnagin and Carol Johnson, and her husband, Bobby Purvis.

She is survived by brothers, Billy Brewer, Bobby Brewer and Sammy Brewer, her children, Larry Purvis, Vonda Purvis and Terry Purvis, her grandchildren, Alicia Dees and Lauren Marion, and 5 great grandchildren, Rayleigh, Karah, Kylah, Tyler and Aiden.
