Tracy M. Gilliam passed away Monday, November 18, 2013.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Providence Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Tracy was born on April 10,1919 to Frank J.and Mary Nejtek Martinka on their Weir,TX farm. She was the 8th of 17 children.She left the 6th grade to keep house for her father and older brothers while they ran the farm.her mother moved her younger siblings to their house in Granger so they could go to school.Although my mom,Tracy,had little formal education,she was very intelligent and skilled in many facets of day-to-day living. Among her many talents was a skill in carpentry,(she could and did build many things.) A lot of history was made during her lifetime mainly surviving the Depression years.

She was preceded in death by her five brothers, Frank,Pete,George,Tim, and Paul.five sisters, Mary,Hattie,Martha,Anne,and Helen.Granddaughter,Cheryl Carpenter Baker,two nephews James and Louis

She is survived by four brothers,Cyril,Joe,Bill,and Henry(Francis) and one sister,Agnes Polasek. Daughter,Alice (Ben) Taisler and grandsons Gary (Ann),Warren (Sandra),Travis (Anita) Carpenter. Great grand children Joe Carpenter (Jenifer) Kirsten Carpenter,Kenneth LaFave,Jenna and Abby Carpenter,Ryan Carpenter,Eric Carpenter(Roxie),Kyle,and Regan Carpenter.
