Patricia Ann Busby Rogers, age 76, of Taylor, TX, passed away October 19, 2013. She was born in San Antonio, TX on August 22,1937 to the late George and Mary Busby.
Pat was raised in Devine, TX and graduated high school in 1955. She then went to college at Southwest Texas State, which is where she met the love of her life, Roy Rogers. She graduated college in May of 1959 and married Roy on November 14,1959. She began her teaching career in 1959 in Runge, TX and later taught in Kennedy, Karnes City, Bartlett, Victoria, and Taylor where she retired in 2000. She touched many lives through her teaching career and continued to touch the lives of children by reading at the First United Methodist Church of Taylor Pumpkin Patch and Mother's Day out. Pat was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother.
Along with the love of her family, she loved to dance the night away with Roy to classic country music. She loved to shop with her friends and granddaughters, was the score keeper for her card group and every card game played, and never missed an opportunity to root her Aggie's on.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Busby and her daughter, Royanne Rogers Rollins.
Pat is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Roy Rogers: sister, Peggy Busby from Houston, TX: children, Brett and Wendi Rogers from Georgetown, TX, Trey and Kate Rogers from San Antonio, TX, Bobby and Trisha Copeland from Taylor, TX: grandchildren, Kaci and Kayla Rogers, Kodi Copeland, Jackson and Carson Rogers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Providence Funeral Home at 807 Carlos G Parker Blvd in Taylor, TX on Monday October 21 from 6-8 pm. The funeral will also be held at Providence Funeral Home on October 22 at 11 am and will proceed with graveside services at the City of Taylor Cemetery. Following the graveside services a luncheon will be hosted at the First United Methodist Church of Taylor, TX. Those wishing to make a memorial gift or in lieu of flowers may do so by donating to First United Methodist Church of Taylor, TX and the American Cancer Society.
