Dessie Ellen Green

Dessie E. Green, 87, of Taylor died Wednesday, September 25, 2013.

Visitation 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013, at Providence Funeral Home with Brother Harold Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.

Dessie Ellen Casey was born in 1926 in Bell County, Texas, to James Harold and Naomi Casey. She married Joe Ross Green on January 7, 1950, and this marriage was blessed with two children. She and Joe were members of the First Baptist Church in Taylor for over 45 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three siblings (Jesse Harold, JoAnne, and Dorothy).

Dessie is survived by her daughter, Sandra Green and husband, Scott McHolland; son, Gary Ross Green and wife, Cate Link; grandchildren, Brent Allen Green and wife, Stephanie Peace; and Colton Ross Green; great-grandchildren, Luke and Olivia Green; and siblings, Laverne Calloway; Margaret Goodwin; Bill Casey and wife, Betty; and Johnny Casey and wife, Juhree.

The family would like to express their appreciation to friends, neighbors, church family, Gruene Senior Living and Compassionate Care Hospice for the support and care they have provided to Dessie and family (especially since Joe’s passing); she truly appreciated it and we do too.
