Larry Michael Nichols was born on December 10, 1948 in Dallas, Texas and passed away in his sleep on August 9, 2013 in Taylor, Texas.

In 1953 Larry’s father transferred to Waco, Texas as a Kirby Distributor. Larry’s childhood was in Waco, and he graduated from Richfield High School in 1967.

In childhood, Larry became an accomplished musician, playing in bands until drafted into the Army where he served 3 years and was stationed in Korea.

After service, Larry returned to Waco and was employed by the Waco Newspaper as a photographer and lay-out artist.

He joined his father in 1974 and became a successful Kirby salesman and married the love of his life, Sherry Clark in 1976. Within 8 years of joining Kirby, Larry became National Sales Manager of Kirby and trained salespeople in 20 countries. Larry had a tremendous talent for developing and creating sales training programs for the “World of Kirby”.

Larry was known as a songwriter, musician, and a recording artist. During the last 3 years he performed in The Golden Oldies Show and had a faithful following.

Larry is survived by his love, Sherry Clark Nichols, children Kim Anderson and husband Lyle of White Horse, South Dakota, Wade Atchison and wife Jennifer of Russellville, Arkansas, Penny Parsons and husband Matt of Taylor, Texas, Lark Nichols and fiancé Ben of Austin, Texas, Michael Nichols and Aimee Tekell, Grandchildren, Savanna, Sloan, Reed, Meg, Luke, and his latest love, baby Tulie.

A Memorial will be held at Clark Mansion at 2112 W. Lake Drive in Taylor on Thursday, August 15th, 2013 at 1 p.m. A burial service will be held September 7th at the Peoria Cemetery.
