John J. Supak

John Joseph Supak, 37, of Beyersville, Texas passed away Saturday, 3 August 2013.

Celebration of Life Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, 10 August 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 408 Washburn Street, Taylor, Texas 76574, with Rev. Msgr. Lonnie Urban officiating.

John was born on 20 May 1976 in Taylor, Williamson County, Texas to Frankie and Bridget (Stafford) Supak.

John was an avid outdoorsman and a “crack shot” with a gun. He liked shooting, fishing, barbecuing, and “blowing stuff up.” He also enjoyed bonfires and sitting around talking with his family and friends. He too loved his games, movies, and TV shows. John was, to put it simply, a country boy through and through.

John was a staffing coordinator and recruiter for numerous companies in central Texas making many friends and colleagues this way.

He was a proud and patriotic member of the Texas Army National Guard. John attended basic training as well as further advanced, individual training attaining the title 12B10 Combat Engineer. He later was activated for Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Armored Falcon I, and Operation Armored Falcon II as Sgt 12B20 Combat Engineer, Security Force Protection, and MP. He received numerous commendations from both the US Army and US Air Force including Texas Faithful Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Homeland Defense Medal, and National War on Terrorism Medal. John was honorably discharged for his service.

John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bridget and John Stafford of Gorey, Ireland and Valasta and John Supak of Beyersville, Texas; as well as his godmother and aunt, Patricia Supak of College Station, Texas.
John is survived by his parents, Frankie and Bridget Supak of Beyersville, Texas; brother, James Supak and wife, Anna of Austin, Texas; and sister Bridget Supak-Peoples and wife, Siobhan of Arlington, Texas.
