Deloris E. Rister

December 11, 1921 — June 24, 2013

Deloris Elizabeth Rister passed away early morning, June 24, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Clinton, MO. She was born in Georgetown, TX December 11, 1921 to Samuel L. and Annie L. Crippen and was married to Ernest Lee Rister in 1939 who proceeded her in death. She lived most of her life in the Granger area and graduated from Granger High School.

She is survived by her four children: Patsy E. Dundas and husband Charles of Clinton, MO, Elizabeth Joan Brinkmeyer and husband Larry of Maineville, OH, Ernest Lee Rister, Jr. and wife Joan of Round Rock, TX and John R. Rister and wife Linda of Granger, TX. She had 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Other family members include: Helen and W.M. Mirtsching, Evelyn Dutton, Genevive Rister, Barbara Petrosky and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to those who helped with her care the last few years: the staff at Golden Living Center, Crossroads Hospice, members of the Northeast Baptist Church, Georgia Jones, David Mills of Vansant Funeral Home and Harold Cook for officiating the service.

Only Heaven knows the lives that Deloris touched through First Baptist Church of Granger where she was a member by cooking, sewing and working in Bible school.

Services have been entrusted to Providence Funeral Home, 807 Carlos Parker Blvd., NW, Taylor, TX. Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of Life Services will be follow at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be at Granger City Cemetery, Granger, TX.
