Steve "Bozo" Olguin, 46, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2013. Steve was born on April 3, 1967 in Taylor to Marcos and Maria Olguin. He was the youngest of 13 kids. Steve graduated from Taylor High School in 1987; he enlisted in the U.S. Army just after high school and served for 3 years. He was discharged as a disabled veteran. He was a lifetime member of Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
His passion was watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Young and the Restless, but above all, he loved his nephews and nieces. Steve is preceded in death by his parents Marcos Olguin and Maria Gomez Olguin, two sisters Antonia O. Garcia and Bernice Olguin, and a nephew Adam Olguin.
Steve is survived by brothers Manuel Olguin, Isaac Olguin, Patrick Olguin and wife Janie, Marcos Olguin, Jr. and wife Josie, Richard Olguin and wife Jo Ann, and Lupe Olguin; sisters Basilia Palomo and companion John Mireles of Rockdale, Mary Ann Trevino and companion Pablo of Dallas, Epifania Strait and husband Ervin, and Alberta Reyes of Brenham; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Olguin, Beau Olguin, George Lopez, Robert Strait, Ronny Strait, and Jesse Palomo, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Trevino, Johnny Gonzales, Jr., Martin Zavala, Richard Olivarez and members of Knights of Columbus Order 10012.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 with the Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Providence Funeral Home.
Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
