Garry Lee Patschke

Garry Lee Patschke entered this life on November 27, 1950, born to his parents Elmo and Evelyn (Zuehlke) Patschke in Taylor, Texas. He was pronounced dead on April 18, 2013 at age 62 from natural causes.

He was baptized and confirmed his faith at St. John Lutheran Church of Thrall, Texas. He graduated Thorndale High School and then married Denise Renee Lehmann, the mother of his children.

As a lifelong resident of Thorndale, he had previously been active in the volunteer fire department, briefly taught auto mechanics at Taylor High
School, owned and operated Garry's Automotive Service, and worked at the Alcoa plant in Rockdale, Centex Tire and Alignment in Taylor, and the
Texas Department of Public Safety in Austin. Following the onset of the disabilities that prevented him from performing daily work, he cared for his mother and sister in their last days as they battled cancer.

His dedication to his family, his faith, and his friends was absolute.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Betty Patschke. He is survived by his daughter Laura Stehn and her husband Andrew of Round Rock and his son Jonathan Patschke of Elgin.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Providence Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 24. A short burial service will follow at the
Taylor City Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be Kirby Richter, Bruce Richter, Larry Tiemann, Russel Niemtschk, Ronald Heselmeyer, and Darrell Towery.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, those willing to celebrate Garry's life donate to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the St. Paul Lutheran Church general fund.
