Ellie Mae (Palla) Mott, 88, of Taylor, passed away January 22, 2013 at the Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Elgin.

Ellie Mae was born November 6, 1924 in Smithville to Wille and Mary Palla and married Joseph Oscar Mott March 1, 1947.

Ellie Mae was a homemaker, caretaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and playing dominoes. Mostly, she enjoyed her time with family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren serving her homemade meals and desserts.

Ellie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, son Wallace Gene Mott, brothers Willie and Edward Palla.

Survivors include her husband Oscar, of 65 years. Daughters Carolyn Flint and husband Glen of Taylor, Jo Ann Ging and husband Scott of Coupland. Also surviving are grandchildren Lisa White (Jason), Travis Flint (Dana), Samantha Valchar (Matt), Clayton Ging (Amber), and Caleb Ging. Great-grandchildren are Lauren, Lindsey and Justin White and JoHannah and Lee Valchar. She is also survived by sister Mary Jane Chalupa and brothers Arthur (Dorothy) Palla and Jimmy (Jean) Palla.

Pallbearers will be Travis Flint, Clayton Ging, Caleb Ging, Jason White, Matt Valchar and Daniel Konarik.

Visitation will be 6-8pm Friday, January 25 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Saturday, January 26 at Providence Funeral Home with the Reverened John Sumner officiating. Burial will follow at the Taylor City Cemetery.

Thank you to the staff and administration of Elgin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elgin for their loving care of Ellie Mae for the past three years.
