Rusty Hatcher beloved and cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and all around outstanding man passed away on January 8, 2013 at the age of 65. He was born November 29, 1947 in Goliad, TX to Albert and Virginia Hatcher. He spent his youth living overseas until his high school years where he returned and graduated from Cuero High School. After high school he continued his education at Texas State University. Upon graduation he moved to Austin and began a career in banking where he met his wife Doris to whom he has been married to for 40 years. His greatest love of all was his two children Tina and Todd and his two grandchildren Jessie and Trey. For the last 25 years he has had a career in the automobile industry working for Nyle Maxwell Taylor. Nyle Maxwell was a man that Rusty truly respected and enjoyed working for. Through the years he has received many awards for outstanding salesmanship and gained many friends in the process. Rusty was a member of the Texas Thoroughbred Association. He loved breading and racing horses for most of his life. While he enjoyed sports in general he especially enjoyed basketball. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, father, and Uncle Milton Hatcher. Rusty is survived by his wife Doris Hatcher, his daughter Tina Murray and her husband Allen, granddaughter Jessica Bible, and grandson Trey Murray, his son Todd Hatcher, his sister Ann Witte and brother in law Jodie, Nephew Jeff Witte (Judy), Niece Donna Elmore (Mitch), and his very dear Niece Tammy Spain (Mike), and the adopted children who entered his life Alden Elliott wife Alexia and daughter Kay, Tony Ramirez, Gina Kutach, and Matt Thompson. The family would like to thank the community of Shiloh and all the dear friends and family for their support. Those of us lucky enough to know and love Rusty will always remember his story telling, wonderful sense of humor, love of country music, and love for all people.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 P.M., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, TX.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 11, 2013 at Providence Funeral Home.
Graveside service will follow at Lawrence Chapel Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Thrall Fire Hall located on Main St.
