Doris Janice Gilmore

Doris Janice Gilmore was born on February 10, 1929 to Mary and Paul Hulke. She grew up in Waco, Texas and attended North Texas State University obtaining a Master’s Degree in Music. In 1952, Doris married William Gilmore.

She is survived by her two children, Carol Gilmore of Bellevue, Washington and Barry Gilmore of Spring, Texas. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Jay of Abilene, Texas and her brother Frank Hulke of Waco, Texas and five grandchildren.

Doris devoted her life to the care of her family and teaching elementary school. She loved children, classical music and gardening. She was well known for her beautiful rose garden and her generous spirit. Doris will be sorely missed by all of her family and friends.

Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Providence Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 16, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale where she was a longtime member. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
