Patricia DeLaRosa Ortega, beloved wife and mother, departed this life peacefully at her home in Taylor on September 17, 2012 at the age of 45 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born to Raymond and Socorro DeLeRosa on June 10, 1967 in Taylor, Texas. Patricia married Paul Celestino Ortega on April 24, 1993 and was a resident of Taylor for 45 years.
After graduating from Taylor High School, Patricia attended the University of Texas Austin and obtained her Bachelors of Art in Literature. She was employed with the University of Texas since 1993 before retiring from the University as a Senior Program Coordinator.
Patricia was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Catholic Church both of Taylor. She was a school board member at St. Mary’s and a religious education instructor for both Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Mary’s Church. Patricia enjoyed various hobbies such as crossword puzzles, photography, making jewelry for her friends and family. She was an avid reader and spent time traveling to see her daughter compete in her many dance competitions.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Paul and their daughter Olivia Victoria of Taylor. Her parents Raymond and Socorro DeLaRosa of Taylor, her sisters and families: Katherine Duran and husband Daniel of Taylor, Cynthia Guerra and her husband Esteban of Sinton, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Domingo and Mary DeLaRosa of Taylor and Carmen Ramirez of Elgin.
Honoring their Aunt as pallbearers will be Trey Alanis, Kenneth Mendez, Tino Alanis, Daniel Rangel, Daniel Duran, Gabriel Guerra and Gavin Mosty.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Providence Funeral Home with Recitation of the Holy Rosary 7:00 P.M.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Effrain Villanueva officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
